[CONTEST ENTRY] The Luxembourg Dynasty

Description

for Category One: Historical Pairings @ :iconaccurate-hetalia-ocs:

here we have Czech Republic and Luxembourg together. Back when Czech Republic was in the Kingdom of Bohemia, during 1310-1437, the kingdom was ruled by the House of Luxembourg, otherwise known as Luxembourg's Royal Family. They were united for over a century, and it was during this time in which Luxembourg and Czech Republic, under Bohemia, actually led the Holy Roman Empire through their monarchs who became Emperor. It was through this unity that Luxembourg and Czech Republic shared that really sealed their close bond to one another. Their relationship started over 700 years ago and is still remembered today (they even have stamps in commemoration of their 700th year anniversary!)

The time in which the Luxembourg and Bohemia were united was considered a Golden Age of the Czech Republic's history. Luxembourg's royals played an important part in helping to establish culture in Czech Republic, but also helped to establish a constitutional structure of succession in the Holy Roman Empire, which held for 4 centuries. The most successful Luxembourg House monarch, King Charles IV, is considered the Pater Patriae (father of the country) to the Czech Republic. Either way, Luxembourg and his royal family played an important role in the Czech Republic's history. And not only that, but this union was an important part of Luxembourg's history and saw him as a very powerful nation during these years.

The map in the background was how the map of Europe looked during the years of the Luxembourg Dynasty, in which we had Kingdom of Bohemia and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg united under one ruler. The outfits that Czech Republic (on the left) and Luxembourg (on the right) are wearing are based off the fashions of Europe during the 1300-1400s. During this time, my Luxembourg OC had longer hair. I see the this pair as being in their early teens in age appearance during this part of their history? Either way, it was fun to draw something more historical than what I usually draw, lmao.

Either way, this pairing is one of my triple threat, and I wanted to prove why it's such an awesome and valid pairing. They're fascinating to read up about! And it's not just their history that connects them, there's more to the pair than that, ohhh yes.

In any case, this is one of my two contest entry pieces. My next one shall be based off of an historical event, focusing more on the Balkans this time around! Hopr you all like it, and feedback and favourites are always appreciated!
